Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is used to repair decaying or damaged teeth. Through restoration procedures, Dr. Engel will save teeth that otherwise would have been removed. Dental restorations include crowns, bridges, dentures, veneers, and fillings. Generally, dental restorations require the same care and treatment as natural teeth and their longevity depends on the patient’s dental health and hygiene.

The restored teeth must not only look good, but must also be functional. Restorative dentistry frequently requires numerous visits to the dentist to complete these procedures. The materials used during dental restorations may include metal alloys, porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, and resin.
